Monstarr: The Story So Far February 22, 2005 - 3:24 p.m. It is just too freezing for words! It snowed yesterday which was pretty to watch but more than a little cold to walk through. I spent last night writing a little review on the CD manda gave me. The new band is called data panik. I submitted the review to www.thisisfakediy.co.uk and you never knowm they might post it on their web site. I've got an appointment to and see my old boss from the Royal Marsden. I'm quite excited, I may end up going back their when I return to the NHS. That would be cool. The weekend was fun although a little weird at times. Richard and I went to see chicks on speed do a live pa at popstarz. I bumped into loads of friends which was nice and despite our best intentions Richard and I drank a little too much. Chicks on speed were a bit disappointing I thought, and they pulled up some people up from the crowd to dance with them, I thought it looked a bit dumb. Hey ho. I was lazy (again) on Saturday though I did manage to venture out of the house by mid-afternoon to go and buy a country and western shirt for unskinny bops tribute to dolly parton. I bumped into my german friend Alex in one of the retro shops on Cheshire street and together with a friend of his we went to the marvellous 'beyond retro' a little further up the street. I found a rather snazzy burgundy and black cowboy shirt though I didn't find a belt. Stephen came over later in the evening and cooked my a healthy and tasty dinner over chicken, chick peas, brown rice and peppers. We went to the george and dragon where Steve W was starting his birthday celebrations. I met a lovely girl called Imogen who, as it turned out, used to work for the Society of Radiographers. From the george and dragon we battled our ways through the icy winds to unskinny bop at the pleasure unit on bethnal green road. It was a cracker of an evening. A good few people where dressed up in cowboy/dolly/kenny rogers outfits. The best, by a mile, was Rob's, who spray dyed his whole head and beard in white. He looked like father christmas dressed up as a cowboy. it was a very effective costume. He would've won a prize at the end of the evening too if he hadn't left early. I got a little tipsy. Stephen looked so cute in his cowboy shirt and stetson. I went home with Stephen, a dolly poster and chips in pitta, hurrah!
