The wait is finally over... get to your television tout suite, as Australia's favourite comedy, Kath & Kim, returns to ABC TV in a new eight-part series from Thursday October 7 at 8.30pm.

Last time we caught up with the Fountain Lakes ladies, they were in the midst of celebrating the birth of Kim (Gina Riley) and Brett's (Peter Rowsthorn) baby girl, Epponnee Rae, drinking a toast to her long and preposterous life.

However, the champagne barely had time to go flat before a whiff of Brut 33 announced the arrival of Kath's (Jane Turner) first husband. Gary Poole (Mick Molloy) sauntered into the hospital room and back into her life, claiming they were still married, as he had never signed the divorce papers.

In episode 1, like her wine time nuts, Kath's feelings are mixed at this late stage when Gary arrives back to stake his claim. Kel (Glenn Robbins) is hamstrung as Gary has Kath over a barrel.

Meanwhile, Kim is loving herself sick as a new mum. She is blown away at how gross Epponnee's motor skills are. Ditto Brett.
