I keep smiling, it's a good thing. Everyday for the last week has been bathed in sunshine. The five minute walk to work is a joy and as I'm on the fourth floor of a building I get to see the sun, yay!

I couldn't be happier in Melbourne so far. Work is going well, some very cool people and I'm getting the hang of the machine and the way the dept runs. Radiotherapy is very similar everywhere you go so it hasn't taken me too long to settle in.

I've played pool afterwork with colleagues and last night Matt and I went to Q&A (Queer & Alternative). We had a blast, the place was a veritable candy shop of cute punky indie boys and the DJ was on fire! It was like being back at popstarz. My heart burst with joy when he played 'connection' and I was thrilled when he played 'i wanna be sedated' by the ramones.

I'm battling a cold and a dire lack of money so monstarr only drank two lemonades and due to work I was in bed by half past midnight.

I love Q&A, i had the best time sober and i'll be there every thursday till I go.

I have a kind of feeling of freedom now I'm not in Sydney, it's odd. I think its due to the fact that I'm working and so money isn't too much of a worry. I was burned out with Sydney by the time I left, it's a great place, don't get me wrong but Melbourne is just much more, well, me.

I'm looking forward to getting to know the city (and its indie boys!) better. Glenn (who I'm staying with) is coping well with my endless smut and rantings at the TV and we're getting on well.

Yay for Melbourne and yay for queer rock action at Q&A!
